ruffs

These are ruffs formed of different stitches and different widths.

This ruff is embllished with small bits of paper doilies around the edges.
  1. This ruff is at its first stage of experimenting by pinning the pleates and adding the doilies to see how the ruff would look before  starting to make a real one.

This ruff is done with double stitches, starting with 1/8" in from the original placement marked with a light pencil, with the marks offset at the top edge and botom edge of the material.
I can hardly see the image of theese dresses I will have to replace them that they can be seen properly.

This is a piece of work done on the laser cutting machine.

This is a new page dated 12/4/2011

This is a new page which I am now starting from today, to work on my second garment for the degree show.  I have been working on my samples over the weekend, they have taken up a lot of my time because of the nature of the cartilage pleating in ruffs.

Note taking

The talk by Hamilton I found quite interesting.  As  she talked about the practicallity and the personal development involved in  transforming  an idea from feelings to a solid physical experience and the role of referance and influence in Her practice.
